WSET Level 3 Wines

A new certification!

With my 2024 career move came new development opportunities! I am happy to share that I recently passed the WSET Level 3 Wines exam and received my certification. My exam result was ‘pass with merit’ with the tasting part ‘pass with distinction’. It’s the outcome of spending a fair number of hours studying during late 2024. I would like to thank WineWise Benelux for their support! I would also like to thank the WSET organization for their solid study program. WSET Level 3 Wines is about Understanding wines: Explaining Style and Quality. In addition to knowing wine facts it focuses on being able to explain why a wine tastes the way it does.

I believe it’s endlessly fascinating to learn more about wine regions, topography, soils and climate. Also, to understand about the many choices a winemaker needs to make to produce the wine he/she is after. In addition, WSET Level 3 includes a detailed approach for tasting and describing wines. All of this made me learn a lot of new things in addition to my previous wine studies. Wine is a topic that never ceases to inspire me, and the learning does not stop here. In 2025 I will continue my education with the globally recognized WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines. It will help me to further build Ivan Wines from beautiful Valencia.
